Biography:
Dr. Mahmoud Alfadel is an Assistant Professor of Software Engineering at the University of Calgary, Canada, whose research lies at the intersection of software engineering and artificial intelligence. His work focuses on leveraging machine learning, program analysis, and large language models to improve software quality, automate maintenance, and enhance developer productivity. He has published in premier venues such as ICSE, ASE, and TSE, with recent studies on AI-assisted vulnerability and bug detection and build-system evolution.

As it involves a Researchathon, participants must be able to define research themes, review related literature, set research questions, and conduct initial analyses.
